Every so often we’d have relatives and close friends coming over from abroad. These are the kind of people who have built careers there and have since been rarely able to have the luxury of time to revisit the places they’ve been from. Yet at the same time they’d been missing and longing for numerous Filipino delicacies from a simple butong pakwan and bagoong to the elaborate duhat wine, durian chips and many others that are a rarity abroad.
We have two (2) sites for solutions whenever they’d ask us to accompany them (since we’re the ones fetching them from the airport anyway). This would be Market!Market! at the Fort Bonifacio in Taguig City for most delicacies and Tiendesitas in Pasig City for most native accessories. Both places gather all the best of what our regions in the Philippines can offer such that one needs not tread so many hundreds of kilometers for their precious mementos or pasalubongs. Cool nooks!
