Tagaytay - Geeting Away for the Weekend

For career men and women like my family, the shortest distance between family day and getting away is Tagaytay. It’s only about two-hour drive from Metro Manila or even less if you’re taking the Sta. Rosa Exit like we usually do.
One weekend, it was nearly 12 noon yet our family was more than willing to reserve our tummies for the sumptuous lunch awaiting us once we’d hit Tagytay, along San Jose Avenue to be exact.
Hot, savory “ bulalo” soup would be the main attraction of the lunch among many other dishesfew burps after, we had our dessert at Taal Vista Hotel and spent the rest of the afternoon enjoying the cool mist amidst the breathtaking sight of the Taal Lake. Kyle was happy running around sans the pollution and noise of the city. His parents were happier to see him pleasedgets dark very easy outside the metropolis. So by 6:00 pm it was time to head off to Nurture Spa where we’d be spending the night in a Thai-inspired nipa hut. Great room to lay our tired and sleepy bodies. Aircon was no longer needed. The following day at a little over 10:00 a.m. (as expected, everyone overslept), we availed of the free healthy set breakfast that went along with our overnight stay at Nurture Spa. Kit and I took the opportunity of my sisters joining us in this weekend trip who gladly offered to take care of Kyle so we could try the “couples” massage while we know will come rarely since we’re hands-on parents to Kyle. Time flies quickly when you’re having fun. For all we knew, it was time to go back to Manila. And like what we always do, we let this weekend getaway memory linger for many weeks by bringing home a few packs of barako coffee.
