My family counts ourselves happy that the place we stay is quite near B Mansion, an affordable yet comfortable Hotel and Resort in Makati.

Whenever we have relatives from abroad who would visit, we almost always refer them to B Mansion. From its brochure, I also noted that OFWs are its primary target market. That is why the place is usually available on pre-reservation basis rather than walk ins. When my sister and her family had a renovation done to their place, we also had them stay temporarily at the B Mansion. We’re such a familiar face especially because we let our son  swim there about twice a week this summer.

The nice thing about B Mansion is that it maintains a homey atmosphere in terms of how they treat you from the time you check in, the way they serve your breakfast till your check out. This is something you don’t easily get from other similar hotels and resorts nearby. The staff is friendly and they make you feel a VIP whenever you’re there, just as our experience has always been with Ms. Beth de Leon and Mr. Boy Ibaňez among others.

B stands for “Baluyot,” a family who is famous for their political, business and medical affiliations in Makati City.

The joy of traveling happens along the way of getting to your destination. What makes a journey exciting sometimes is when you do not know your destination in the first place, because then you’re practically gambling the outcome of your travel.

This happened to us last year. We knew we’d be spending the summer vacation in Subic and the funny thing was we dared to go there despite the duly noted knowledge that we only had an overnight stay reservation to the first hotel we booked within the Freeport. Within the summer, you’re lucky if you are able to book with hundreds, even thousands of tourists making pre-reservations. So there we were, all set for a 3-night-three-days agenda despite only an overnight booking. I thought it’s really guts who drove us there.

The following day without wanting to leave Subic, we went hotel hopping so we could spend the rest of the three days until we’re able to go out of the Freeport and reached Zambales. To our surprise, there’s this Club Morroco Beach Resort and Hotel in the almost secret mountain of this town. The facade, upon parking in the premises, was simply breathtaking. You have to visit to understand what I mean. Thankfully, there was an available villa for the family to enjoy what this resort could offer.
