Yesterday, as we promised our son Kyle to visit a car show which is called the “Auto Focus Motorshow & Auto Expo” at the Bonifacio Global City open field. Even though it was raining that afternoon, my son was able to see all the automobile manufacturers and distributors who participated in this event.

Various new cars, pick ups and SUV models from Cherry, Suzuki, Ford, Honda, Hyundai, Isuzu, Jeep, Kia, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Toyota, Ford, Chrysler, Dodge, Volvo, Audi, Porsche, Subaru, and Mercedes Benz were displayed. I even learned later that cars displayed were available for test drive.

We only missed the on-site voting for “Petron Auto Focus People’s Choice Awards,” this is to determine the most popular automobile maker and model in the country. Maybe I could give you in my later post the results of this survey and the “Automobile of the Year” and “Model of the Year” awardees chosen by the people who attended this event.

As for Kyle’s choice. He forgot his favorite car Volvo XC90 when he was able to see Isuzu Alterra with a wide flat TV attached at the back of the front set while showing one of his favorite movie “Transformer”.

We were on our travel last week when we decided to stop over for a while to buy some souvenir items from that place. Suddenly my son shouted and acted like he saw something. Knowing him, I knew he was acting like that for a reason. My guess is quite right. My son happened to see a vintage car. My son really loves car especially the unusual ones. He saw a Chevrolet Impala Vintage car parked along the side of the road. It was a classic 1964 Chevy Red Impala with a white side walled tire with silver original chrome center cap on it. It is also registered as member of a vintage organization in the country.

His mom and I could not stop our son from going round and round the car. He was really amazed by what he has seen. This car reminds me also of my late grand father’s car during the late 60’s. I was not yet born at that time but I will never forget his story about how he drove his Chevy Impala.

I love to have some classic or vintage car, too. I even wanted to restore some of the old classic cars that was only dumped by some old rich folks in our province. But as we all know it is hard to restore these. For one thing, some parts could hardly be found since the original is no longer available in the market and for production of some car manufacturer. Especially if you wanted the original hubcap, center caps and other chrome center caps.

I have visited http://www.centercaps.neta home for almost all types of tire caps. You can find the lowest internet price of your hubcaps, center caps and wheel cover in centercaps.net. You can find original caps, of your new car or even for your old car. You can easily find your center caps or hubcaps because they have available caps for almost car brands, from Japanese cars to luxury expensive European car brands to the year model of your car.

  • Advantages of Having Car Insurance

My neighbor had a minor car accident last week and he suffered minor damages at back of his AUV (all-purpose vehicle). He asked me what papers were needed to be submitted for his insurance claim since he decided to have it repaired and the cost of which would be shouldered by his insurance company.

That’s why it is really a big help if you have your car insurance with you. You are confident that whatever happens, there is valuable protection against the unexpected financial losses associated with traffic accidents, vehicle damages from such things as vandalism and more advantages of having car insurance.

You can even apply it in online auto insurance where you can easily compare with many insurance companies, research about individual insurance company’s financial strength or capabilities, compare their premium prices, company background and consumer services.

I am confident to drive because I know I have my car insurance driving me.

  • My Son’s Car Magazine Collections

I did a general cleaning of the house this afternoon and finally got the chance to arrange my son’s car magazine collections. They occupied our 2 floors and 2 rows in the magazine cabinet. When I have classified types of car magazine my son has collected so far, they total almost a hundred now since he started acquiring them two years ago.

I remember the first time Kyle had his first glance of the TopGear Magazine way back January of 2006. He will just about a year and 10 months old at that time. His aunt gave him the copy of of Topgear Magazine from her monthly subscription. She subscribed because she knows how Kyle loves cars so much. From then on, Kyle would always ask her aunt where is his new magazine every time they have a chance to meet.

Kyle’s passion about cars started when he saw the movie Cars. Aside from the monthly TopGear subscription courtesy of his aunt, he also want us to buy other car magazines every time we shop. Magazines such as C!, Automobile and other American and European Car magazines we’d see in a book store. He even let us buy used car books.

I remember back then every time he is scanning his magazine he had to ask me what car is this and that sometimes two to three times a day. Imagine he has to ask you all cars that were featured in 2006 and 2007 buyers guide where new cars are featured. That’s the reason why he can now identify almost all car brands from Asian, American even the expensive European cars which we only see on TV and in the movies. He can tell one from the other by mere looking at the car’s logo. He can even identify it by looking at the side. But his favorite car is Volvo, specifically the XC90 model.

I was able to count my son’s TopGear Magazine collections and they reach up to 27 issues already. We only missed 1 or 2 issues, but I’m not sure maybe we only misplaced it if not already damaged it. I remember when Kyle was still two years old, he’d tear a page every time he’d like the car and then he’d carry it anywhere he’d go.

Aside from 27 issues we have, we also secured 4 back issues of TopGear wayback in 2005 from Filbars and aside from 12 copies including August 2007 issue where he was chosen to be featured in the “Letter of the Month” section which, of course, is his most favorite one.

My son has C! magazine collections too since Jan 2007 and has lots of American Automobile, Nascar, Trucks, Collections, Vintage Car Magazines and books as well.

As for car toys, he now has almost a hundred of Matchbox, Tomica, Hot Wheels and Maisto die-cast vehicles, Shell Gas Ferraris, a couple of 1/43 cars from Maisto and Kinsmart. Plus many, many China plastic cars and trucks.

Vernon Sarne, Editor-in-Chief of TopGear Magazine owes Kyle a lot of thanks J! Anyway if we will have a chance Kyle and I would like to visit him in their new office. Anyway I have to thank car magazines too because through them, my son knows his alphabet and learned to identify colors.
