I am the person who really hates messy things around the house. Maybe it runs in the blood, as I remember my mom usually scolding us if she’d see that our beddings were not in their proper form even if we were about to sleep anyway. Somebody from the family told me a story about our relative before wouldn’t let you into the house if she’s cleaning. That for me simple decoration or kids home décor for our son’s room will do. As long as it is organized and clean.

I was not able to experience some of the Filipino traditions such as the “harana’’ or serenading someone you like in her home, and also those hard work to be experience as a so-called “acid-test” if you want to court someone. As what we have seen in some classic Filipino movies, a man used to help in the household chores of the girl he wants to have a relationship with. However, time changes and things change with time. Unlike before, today a girl can consider herself lucky if a man will visit her in her house. These days, you seldom see a man giving flowers or cookie bouqeuts for $20 since mostly, courtship now is done via sms messaging or chat online.

It is so funny when our son Kyle at the age of seven is already asking us to buy him a watch. We are not sure if he has just seen someone wearing it or has seen someone from his classmates wearing watches. He already has some kiddy watch before when he was still small but he doesn’t want it anymore and he is asking is like those Momentum M1 Watch he has seen online. I remember that I was already in high school when I started considering watches before.

It is really worth the price if there’s somebody in the family who is about to graduate. Imagine the sacrifices not just of those who will graduate but the hardship of the parents in sending their son and daughter in school until they graduate.  For me, graduation invitations are among the best invitations to be received from since it is a testament of congratulating parents for their sacrifices.

Hopefully the academe, teachers will really perform not just their duty as a teachers but to make and mold their students to be better students and persons. They should avoid making their students afraid or traumatize them in  going to school. I really thank and will never forget those teachers I had before. They will not be forgotten because they are part of us and made the best of what they can to make us what we are now. But I am sure there are also some that we will not be forgotten because of the misgivings they committed to us and may affect who we have become.

It seems that bad bosses abound and sadly, some even get promoted or continue to have high position in companies. Various studies like online surveys in workplaces indicate that those bad bosses that are only dependent on their subordinates but they are those who get the promotion. Hopefully, companies can look into this, like the numbers of their employees resigning who are supervised by one boss only. They must always consider that a better workplace produces good company output. Companies who give better recreation and benefits and not just stress can be productive. It is also beneficial to wholesale life insurance or healthcare management of employees.

It was almost 15 years ago when I last worn my nursing uniforms. The last time I worked as a nurse reliever in hospital in our place and I am proud that I am nurse, and I am not closing my door that someday I will work as nurse again. But at this very moment I am not thinking about working again in the hospital. That’s why I can relate to those new registered nurses who are complaining about those hospitals were they pay just to have hospital experience. Luckily for me, I don’t pay the hospital before while I am on my volunteer job. Sadly today some are paying the hospitals while rendering duty. During my time I just did 15 days as volunteer then I became a reliever nurse, but sadly sometimes I would do 16 hours of duty straight, sometimes after 10pm-6am duty and about to have sleep after, when you will received a message that I have to be back in the hospital at two pm duty. In my six months as reliever nurse I only received an equivalent to one month salary. That’s why to those who are planning to take nursing course think of it a thousand times.

It’s been almost two years ago when we accidentally discovered about Leisure Coast Resort in Dagupan, It was during a typhoon called Peping hitting Northern Luzon, around the same time that we were celebrating the Feast of Tabernacle in one of the resorts in San Fabian in Pangasinan. The whole Province of Pangasinan was very much affected by almost a week of non-stop raining at that time. It was our free day and we were on our way to Baguio. But we could not continue due to the heavy rain and some roads were already not passable. We decided to come back but found out that the place where we were staying at already didn’t have electricity. We decided to find another place to stay because we already felt that it was going to be flooding as the place were surrounded by rivers. Luckily we were able to find Leisure Coast on our way to Dagupan. The next day we learned that the resort were we previously stayed were affected by flood. And then we knew about the extent of damage of that typhoon in the province. Although we knew that our Almighty Father will not permit that something to happen to us, He didn’t want us to have patient monitor after our feast celebration. It was the beginning were almost every year during our feast that we choose to stay in Leisure Coast.
