If you ask me what country in Asia I want to visit with our family, I always answer Singapore because I want to see the country’s underwater world resort, situated on Sentosa Island of Singapore. It is well-known oceanarium showcasing some 2500 marine life from 250 species from around the regions since its opening in 1991.
I want to see and walk through 83-metre-long moving travelator 180-degree curved walls a tunnel housing the majestic rays, fearsome sharks, great shoals of other fishes and a host of other creatures that inhabit the ocean depths.
This is why I am sio happy when I heard that Manila Ocean Park will open in Manila Bay Area. This P1-billion project of Singaporean and Malaysian investors is a world class marine park. The park is the first and largest aquarium in the Philippines. A 12,000 cubic meters of seawater wiuth 300 marine species from Philippines and Southeast Asia.
This will be the most advanced ocean parks in Asia larger than the famous Sentosa oceanarium in Singapore. But unlike Singapore Underwater world, Philippine oceanarium is a 25-meter long walkway tunnel with 220-degree curved acrylic walls.I am so happy that it will now open this March 2008 after few delays on their expected opening last December.
I am sure I will save money in terms of fare to bring my family down under the waterworld.
Operating Hours
Manila Ocean Park is open from 10am – 9pm, Mondays through Sundays.
Entrance Fee
The Entrance Fee for adults is PHP400 (approximately US$10) and PHP350 (approximately US$9) for children.
