When the red light is on at Krispy Kreme, it signals that fresh doughnuts are just out of the oven. For original glazed doughnut fans, it also signals that free doughnuts are ready for the asking.
In Manila(Boni High Branch), Krispy Kreme’s red lights are on about 10 times spread throughout the day. From my own guesstimate, the red lights are on for an hour and I wonder how many pieces of doughnuts this outlet has been giving away for free regardless of whether you order something or not. If you are a kid, you’d probably get a free hotdog-shaped balloon and a paper hat that says “Eat Krispy Kreme Doughnut.”
Wow, I am personally impressed by Krispy Kreme’s generosity. It’s been existing since 1937 and I can only hope the outlet will still continue to afford this sales tactic for as long as it can even amidst the rising prices of oil, flour and sugar.
