At five years old, my son has started to develop his own taste preferences and I am taking note of them because it gives me joy seeing him enjoy the food he likes.   I try to veer away from restaurants that I know he won’t like even if I like those places.

This weekend, we tried Sumosam for lunch for the first time and I was hoping my son’s Japanese blood will enable him to appreciate the dishes there. True enough, he liked his beef gyudon big time, making its expensive price forgivable.

With this I really need to buy fitness equipment now.

Metro Manila is getting really hotter and hotter. With the recorded high temperature in the past few days, it seems that there is no place to hide and no place to feel cold except in the malls where air conditioning is available. Take last last weekend for example. We went to Sierra Madre mountain range somewhere in the eastern side of the metro in the hope that we could feel the Baguio-like temperature but instead, my cousin got sun burn as it was not spared from the terrible heat.

I wish we could have a trip outside the country praying that some day we could have things like orlando timeshare at least we could have discounted trip every time we travel.

My cousin wanted to meet her long time best friend in high school here in Metro Manila. Being from the province, she asked me what possible restaurant or coffee shops would be best for them to stay for a long period of time talking. I told her that there are places where they could stay, have good food and no waiter or any personnel will mind them and that would include either Starbucks or Seattle’s Best.

We chose Seattle’s Best in Greenbelt where her husband could roam around with me while my cousin and her friends can talk all they want. At least in Seattle’s Best, if you don’t have your laptop you can still check your email there because it gives free internet use of 30 minutes for every P250 purchase.

My cousin reunited and talked with her best friends from lunch time till sun down.

It has been my dream to have at least once a year out of the country trip together with my family. How I wish this year we could see the beauty and cleanliness of Singapore, Disneyland and metal buildings of Hong Kong, either to see my friends in the United States or United Kingdom but most of all maybe to see my sister in law again in Belgium and to have a tour of all of Europe.

I hope we could have this dream coming true before the end of 2010.

My cousin from the province visited us for a couple of days here in Metro Manila and they were able to experience the heavy traffic in almost all part of the metro during Friday. The also witness the irresponsible driving of some buses, jeepneys and motorcycles drivers. According to them this is not the place to live. This is also due to the fact that they live in a place considered in some surveys and magazines articles as the best place to live in Negros Occidental.

Aside from those road side accidents, we were also able to pass by my cousin who also drives and she told me that she can’t drive here in Metro Manila unless she has auto insurance quote first.

It is summer time now in the Philippines and temperature is raised to more than 37 degrees. Sometimes it can be dangerous not only to our skin but also because of the possibility of heat stroke. Last Sunday I brought my cousin to Sierra Madre resort where I thought we could have a cool place but instead it caused her sun burn on her neck area. Just an advise to those who have plan to go swimming in the country beach resort: make sure to use only trusted brands of sun screens or sun block and also to drink much liquid.

How I wish we could have out of the country trips during this period at least maybe in some places where we will use heated mattress pads . Not like this were aside from the El Nino phenomenon causing too much heat we were experiencing and rotating brown outs too which added to hotter temperature inside the house.

Finally my wife succeeded in letting me and my son try her favorite beef meal at the Yoshinoya restaurant. She says that a year ago this used to be her office’s favorite food asked for delivery. We tried its branch in Greenhills and I’m happy that the restaurant serves red ginger that goes well with beef. I told myself to cut back on fats and meat on my diet and I have even been searching for top 10 diet pills but what is once in a while for? I will behave tomorrow.
