Yoshinoya

Finally my wife succeeded in letting me and my son try her favorite beef meal at the Yoshinoya restaurant. She says that a year ago this used to be her office’s favorite food asked for delivery. We tried its branch in Greenhills and I’m happy that the restaurant serves red ginger that goes well with beef. I told myself to cut back on fats and meat on my diet and I have even been searching for top 10 diet pills but what is once in a while for? I will behave tomorrow.

Bulalo and Organic Egg

How true is it that bone marrow, organic egg and whey milk can treat high cholesterol problem? to his patient with cholesterol problem? I heard a doctor say this in a radio program and this is a bit controversial because what we know is that bone marrow and egg are forbidden by some doctors because of their high cholesterol content.

On the other hand, it’s common knowledge that whey milk helps build muscles fast. He even cited that those doctors that came out studies about the cholesterol content of eggs and marrow died young while he remains one living proof about the effects of these foods. At more than 80 years old now, he can still manage to climb building floors without using elevators.

Now can we beat this?

  • Merci Pasalubong Center in Manila

I still remember the time when people would exceed their baggage the limits whenever they would travel even if it’s just involving domestic trip. Most likely, it would be due to the mementos or special delicacies that people would not leave without.

Thanks to the technology and efficient supply chain, the world is getting smaller everyday. The other day, Merci Pasalubong Center penetrated the Metro Manila market via its Farmer’s Market branch. Thus. if I’d go to Negros the next time, there would be no need for me to buy Negrense delicacies there since I could buy them here in Manila. On the other hand, that also means I’d need fat burner for men since my favorite native delicacies are now close at hand.

  • Negros Fever

I thought one week after we got home from a vacation in Negros is enough for me to recover to my metropolitan senses. Sadly my mind was still there in Negros. I still cherish sleeping once again in my room way back when I was still single and all I could hear was the cockling of my father’s fighting cocks. I would also sometimes in my cousin’s bedroom with a 32-inche Samsung HDTV

It’s been only a week that I left Negros but I already miss it and the food there like the timan or the puto maya as what they usually call it in other Visayan places. I also miss the cansi among others.

  • Sharyn’s Cansi House

To me, having a vacation in Negros Occidental will not be complete without having to sip boiling hot sour boiled bone-in beef shank soup or “cansi” as we Ilongos simply call this local version of Bulalo. That’s why in my 15 days vacation in Negros, 10 days of our dinner there consisted of cansi as my main course. Various people cooked from my father to local restaurants who also serve cansi to the one of the famous cansi places in Bacolod called Sharyn’s Cansi.

No wonder my brother in-law’s blood pressure increased with those bone marrows and beef fat we both love to eat. We also tried the cansi Maguindanao Style which my aunt introduced us. She got the menu during her friend visit in Maguindanao.

I thought there is no need to have free insurance quotes because I heard one doctor who was featured in one of the TV shows who recommended bulalo to his patient with high cholesterol condition. According to him those doctors and researchers who made a study of avoiding the eating of eggs and bone marrows did not make it to 60 years old and he is at the age of 70 plus. He said he can still climb up to 20 floors without having an elevator. I am not sure if this is true but I wish it is true.

Heavy rains of Typhoon Pepeng prevented us from planned visit to Baguio City a couple of weeks ago. After hearing from the news that the water in Pangasinan especially in San Fabian where we were staying started to rise and due to the black out with no water supply during that day, we were forced to seek for a safer place to stay along San Fabian and Dagupan area.

We were on our way to Dagupan from San Fabian when I spotted the Leisure Coast Resort along the Bonouan Binloc road in Dagupan City. It’s been three to four years already that I have been passing through this place during our yearly religious activity in San Fabian but I never had a chance to drop or inquire about the place. We didn’t have any information about the resort until that night. We discovered that it is a nicest place to stay in Dagupan Pangasinan area.

We discovered that the place had a lot of beautiful family amenities like their water parks, restaurant, function rooms, Cabana hotel rooms and affordable standard rooms.

Our overnight planned stay extended to 4 days and 3 nights stay and now we are having a problem on how to lose belly fat since its Sabina restaurant offers best local and other Pangasinense delicacies too.

Luckily we, we found the place to be stranded in for a couple of days since Dagupan and the road to San Fabian were submerged in flood water around this time.

I love to eat “Kaldereta” (Goat meat stew) and last year it made me like Goat Kilawin or Kinilaw, too. But what matter most is that I really started to like it more than Adobong kambing and Kaldereta. That’s why I will be needing diet pills every time we were in Pangasinan.

It’s hard to stop me from sneaking and have an order of Goat Kilawin where there’s a lot of “kambingan” restaurant in Mangaldan Area. Sadly, due to typhoon flooding in the area, some of the restaurants closed but it didn’t stop me from traveling more distant places in Dagupan just to have it before coming back to Manila. Although my favorite carinderia here in Makati serves Goat Kilawin, it isn’t offered regularly. Hopefully I could find a restaurant that serves Goat Kilawin regularly.
