A Family Place to Stay in Baguio

A little over a month from now and we will be having our yearly religious feast once again. Although we do not know the place yet where it will be held but usually we would celebrate it somewhere in Pangasinan.

During this one week celebration, we would be given one family day where we would go to places we want. Most likely, it would usually be Baguio. After all, it is barely an hour drive away from where we would always hold this religious activity.

Since we had a new member now in the family after my sister in-law got married, she wants her husband to see the city of Baguio. She was asking us to find a better family place to stay where we could find a villa or a big family room with two to three bedrooms. It also comes with a nice living room, a fire place and hopefully a HDTV.

Is anyone in the mood to suggest a nice place to stay? We will highly appreciate it.

My wife and I are discussing about who will choose for the furniture that we will buy if ever, Yahweh willing, we will be granted to have our new house. I told her that since I am always in the living room, then I should be the one to choose the living room furniture. I think I should also take care of deciding what will be put in the dining and kitchen room. On the other hand, she could do everything she wants for her office furniture.

When one of the programs on TV showcased the best bulaluhan restaurant in the Metro, I got curious about RJ Bulaluhan that was featured while my wife loves to visit the featured bulalohan found somewhere in Fareview since she loves it with vegetable while I love bulalo soup, marrows and bones fats. Hopefully RJ proves to be the perfect one for me. I would like to post my experience in RJ in the coming days because we are really keen on visiting the place.

  • My family and I chance to visit and see Clark Freeport Zone once again. Located in Angeles Pampanga, Clark is a former United States Air force base in the Philippines, an American military facility from 1903 to 1991. After the American departure in 1991, it was converted into Clark Freeport Zone where the site of the Diosdado Macapagal International Airport is also found.

We visited the place and saw a lot of place inside the Freeport. We explored the Clear Water Country Club, SM Clark, Fontana, Ang Bagong Nayong Filipino, Expo Filipino, Mimosa and lots of Duty Free shops.

In my next posts, I hope to tackle about our experiences in each of the place we visited and have some photos to go along the story. Right how, I just happened to be busy searching for some Amazon books online.

My wife wanted me to try Josephine’s restaurant branch in Tagaytay. We already tried their Cavite branch we never had a chance to try its Tagaytay branch. After lunch we’ve learned that the newly constructed Robinson’s Land hotel in front of it called Summit Ridge is already open. Out of curiosity, we went to see the place and inquired for their rooms rates.

We learned that the hotel offered 50% discount on all of their room on that day that it soft opened. While it was really our intention to spend overnight in Tagaytay that day, we ended up staying in Summit Ridge.

We’re lucky to be among the few who got to try the comfort of its new rooms and took advantage of the newly operational hotel. The staff were really accommodating as expected of new players.

Summit Ridge hotel has 90 standard and 18 2-bedroom suites, 400 – 500 capacity ballroom, training rooms, event lawn, auditorium, restaurant, badminton court, gym and swimming pool.

It was really nice to have a break here sitting on the side of the pool with out thinking of the busy and the noise of life in the city. If life is like this always, there would be no need to have insurance quote since you will have a stress free and happy life even for a time.

  • Road Trip - Club Balai Isabel

Last week, it was not really our intention to visit Club Balai Isabel, a lakeside Residential resort located in Talisay, Batangas. It became famous lately when two of the well known celebrities held one of their wedding activities there. We just happened to be on our way to Tagaytay to have a lunch. While on the South Luzon express way my wife and I were busy talking about some pet supplies for my son’s ornamental fish that we didn’t expect to give birth. I did not notice that we already passed by the Sta. Rosa exit so we decided to have it in the next exit and just turned back. But we saw a road sign “20 minutes to Tagaytay Highlands.” Hoping that there would be another route to Tagaytay, we decided to continue but never expected that in order to pass through on that private estate to Tagaytay you must be a member or it. Although there is another way to Tagaytay via Tanauan and Talisay Batangas, it would take you almost an hour to Tagaytay.

So we had nothing to do but take that road trip rather than turn back. Since we also wanted to see my father in-law’s home town in Talisay. We accidentally passed by Club Balai Isabel. Although we heard about this Balai Isabel we are not really sure this was the Balai Isabel featured in some show business news lately. My wife insisted to check the place since we were searching for a better place to spend the night as well.

We never expected the beauty of this place located here. Sadly the place is fully occupied that day but the place is nice and quite. You will see the view of Taal lake and the Volcano. On their sea side are floating cabanas where you have your food over the water. If I am not mistaken this was the place where a celebrity couple had their brunch after their church wedding.

The place had a swimming pool and restaurant. Club Balai Isabel offers beautiful amenities, facilities and other services like massage. Hopefully we could a night here on our next road trip.

    My Son’s Pet

It is really fun to have other members of the family, not just the relatives but what I mean is a pet in the house. I really love animals. Maybe I have passed on this trait to my son. He really loves animals too. Every time we’re in a mall and able to pass by a pet store, you really can’t stop him from dropping by. He loves fish as a matter of fact I bought him couple of ornamental fishes and only in a few days we noticed that it bore small fishes, too.

He also loves birds. Maybe we could buy him birds and if we already have a big space in the house, we could give him a dog, too. Although pets sometimes can change our travel habits, I know for sure we could find a better chance like there are available dog ramps if you have big dog, portable aerator for the fish and a lot more pet accessories nowadays for you and to your pet’s convenience.

  • Goodah Branch

My friend Maue came from San Francisco for a vacation last week and he told me that he really missed “pares” and “tapsilog”. It’s been almost two since his last visit in the country. That’s probably the reason why he missed such Filipino foods so much. Since he had only few hours here, he took a connecting flight to our province but he asked me what could be the nearest pares restaurant along the airport.

Luckily, I was able to pass by one of Goodah Restaurant branches along Buendia where the former Dayrit’s restaurant was located. Goodah is located inside a Sea Oil gasoline station in 63 Sen. Gil Puyat Ave., Palanan, Makati City.

It is just my second time to eat in Goodah that night and the very first time was in its Libis branch. I never thought the I would be going to like their “pares” since then I keep on coming back every time I am craving for “pares” I am sure I’m going to need the best diet pills for the amount of food and all the beef fats that went with it. I am sure this will be just the beginning of a more frequent visit in Goodah.
