Almost everyday while waiting for my son to come out from school, we the parents always talk about any topic that could entertain us while we are waiting for them in the parents or guardian area of the school. One of the topics that we always talk about is food since the parents of my son’s classmates are composed of different races. They include Chinese, Korean, British, American, Japanese and of course Filipinos.

We can’t deny the fact that there is an increase of Korean population now in the country and with the advent of that, there is an increase of Korean stores selling Korean product, resorts, schools as well as restaurants and even the existence of Korean villages.

Since yesterday, our topic is about Korean foods like kimchi, noodles and soup. One of the parents is asking about certain Korean food featured in one of Korean novelas that was shown in a local TV network. She is asking our fellow parent what is that name of that Korean food that was featured and since she was married to a Korean husband. Last night, I spent most of my time searching for a map that could brought me to “Museo Pambata” (Children Museum). That’s because my son Kyle would be having their school fieldtrip in Museo Pambata and to Manila Ocean Park this morning. I planned to bring the car and will not join his classmates in the bus because I had previous commitments after the tour.

My son had a great time this morning when visited the Museo. The city Government of Manila where the said Museum was located could have more additional budget to develop more and could have more added attraction that will help children learn more in their outdoor education tour since this museum was frequently visited by different schools in the metro.

The one restaurant that my wife always mentions about every time we are visiting Tagaytay is Breakfast at Antonio’s. We visited the place once. I could say the place is cozy and unique because if you happen to see the place, its an old American style house converted into a restaurant.

The food is awesome, the burgers are great. It’s an American style cuisine but you have to prepare because you will not be needing any weight loss pills anymore. When my sister in-law’s Belgian fiancée visited us last December, we brought him in one of the restaurants in Serendra in Fort Bonifacio since according to my sister in law her fiancée, is a meaty person and how he loves to eat steak.

So my brother in-law recommended Brazil Restaurant, Brazilian Churrasco. I don’t know the meaning of it. But what I am sure of is that I will never forget the buffet style meals but for the endless, all-you-can-eat grilled sausages, chicken and beef. They are sliced in your plate in front of the newly taken from their grill. With its watery grilled beef, I forgot that I was wearing a formal attire with only silk ties tied on my neck.

I don’t know how many times I requested the waiter to have another slice on plate that night.

I was curious when I heard about the oldest restaurant in the Philippines called Ambos Mundos. It is a fusion of both Spanish and Filipino restaurant located along Palanca St. in Recto Manila. It was first opened by Spanish immigrants Gaudinezes way back in 1888.

Story has that that one of the Gaudinezes married Leung, from a Chinese family in Chinatown. In 1955 they opened another restaurant which was more famous. The cantonenese restaurant Wah Sun Cantonesse Panciteria was just across Ambos Mundos.

Today, Wah Sun is not only well known for their foods but also for their added pets display. Exotics animals like Albino Python, baby crocodile, fishes like Arruanas, carps among others with the animal cages, pet beds and aquarium are inside their restaurant.

I am sure it will be another eating experience and adventure. Hopefully we can visit and try its menu offerings. It is not hard for us to locate the place because the people who already visited the place say that you will see the captivating pet pig tied outside the restaurant both in Ambos Mundos and in Wah Sun.
